We have a 60 acre farm on Lake Hartwell with two guest houses. Please see below for more information, pictures and booking instructions. . Spotted Fawn Farm also specializes in events and weddings. The cabin is often used for the groom, where the cottage is more for brides and families.

We encourage leashed dogs who get along well with other dogs as we have five on the property. There are loads of free-range chickens, guineas and turkeys as well as pigs so dogs must be constantly leashed.
We feel our farm is something special and love the connections we make with guests. We encourage folks to bring their horses and can offer pasture or stall boarding for a very small fee. Boats are welcome as well but please be sure to let us know in advance.

Guests are welcome to walk anywhere on our 60 acres (including miles of woods trails), as long as they do not enter any locked pastures or doors. We have several homes on the property, both rentals and homes of family and our equine handler.

We are happy to meet guests or let you have your time alone. We are out and about on the farm all the time and would be happy to introduce you to our animal family. No guests are allowed to access any pasture without being accompanied by a Spotted Fawn Farm member. We don't want our animals or any guests injured. The farm is home to over 50 animals, all with distinct personalities. We love to show children all the interesting facts about our furry friends, but want to make sure everyone is kept safe.

We love to meet our guests and cocktail hour is anytime we sit down and pour a glass!

Our little cabin is a great rental for couples or friends of four or less. Our "tiny house" is a charming cabin nestled in the woods and overlooking the horse arena and big pasture. It backs up to the woods trails and is closest to the lake. It has a small, efficiency kitchen, a futon that sleeps two, a comfy double bed and a hot shower.

The Cabin

The Don Draper is our 1951 vintage Richardson Camper. It’s been our red-headed stepchild since it arrived and has received quick bursts of attention and then sat for months. It’s finally done!

To think this old guy sat for years and years and would have just been scrapped makes me insane!

After removing the paint, we decided to leave the outside the original aluminum. Much discussion occurred over the doors, which I love. We ended up leaving them rusty but sanded and smooth. Just like with people, a few laugh lines show what we’ve been through and are just added character. At least that’s what I say about my wrinkles!
I wallpapered the bathroom with old maps of Hartwell and Georgia and we are (so far) keeping the original tiny sink and toilet. The toilet really brings home the fact that people were MUCH smaller in the 50s! Still, it’s cute and works perfectly.

When we found “The Don”, it had two rounded twin beds which were so neat but sadly full of mice. We knew anyone staying would want a good night’s sleep so we created a nice bed with a badass mattress and great bedding.

We removed the old stove and gave it to someone who lovingly restored it and gave it a great home. We added a small fridge and retro little countertop oven and found great floors and vintage red counters. Our steamy shower is outside and clawfoot tub overlooks the pasture for a long, hot soak. The little table and gold checked benches still unfold beautifully. He is really a handsome old guy, maybe a bit worn on the outside but still a kickin’ whippersnapper inside!

I’m so happy to have this project done. Big thanks to our builder, Daniel Shilts, who never thought he’d be working on a trailer at this stage in his life.

Reviews From Our Guests

Awesome tiny cabin with a comfortable bed and the futon is actually pretty comfortable as well. Very nice decorations and good hot shower. Perfect for two people. Three people would be a little much unless it was a child. Out in the middle of nowhere and away from the hustle and bustle. Very quiet and serene with beautiful views.

Used this house as a guys get away for a night, absolutely loved the house and the barn/outdoor atmosphere that came with it. We grilled out, played cornhole, built a fire, and enjoyed the night sky all the while. Loved our stay here!

This cute cottage very comfortably sleeps eight adults. Everywhere you turn there are cute, comfortable places to curl up and read or play games and spend quality time with your people. Truly a gem!!

Our family of 3 adults, 2 college age kids and 2 dogs had a wonderful family get away weekend at this gorgeous little cottage in the woods. The cottage farm house decor was very tasteful , warm and inviting. Elexis the host could not have been more gracious and helpful in planning our stay and in assisting us if needed during our visit. We had a great time stargazing, cooking out, sitting around the firepit each night, playing games, throwing balls and sticks for the dogs, taking photos of all the farm animals, reading and relaxing in the shade and sleeping in each morning. The college kids pitched their hammocks in a tree in the shade and enjoyed reading and napping. We had a great time walking through the woods and exploring the surrounding lake and small towns nearby. We wanted a quiet, relaxing location to share family time, to get away from city life and keep it simple. This was perfect for our needs. We did discover a couple of hidden gems for resturants in nearby towns and had a great excursions to The University of Georgia in Athens and to see an Atlanta Braves game. Our family is definitely hoping to go back together or some of us want to return for a girls weekend. We left thinking we needed a few more days there to rent kayaks or a pontoon boat on Lake Hartwell or to venture up to the mountains. We hope to add more activities to our next visit! Great and fun stay!

Where do I begin? This is a tiny peice of heaven! I came here by myself for a quiet get away and it was beyond my expectations! The cabin is absolutely adorable and I felt so safe! Everything is very clean and the bed was so comfy that I didn't want to get up! Coffee and muffins on the porch and a walk around the animal farm was an incredible start to the day! I adore every kind of animal so I can't get enough of this farm! They might have to MAKE me leave!!! I can't recommend this enough! Thank you Elexis and Buddy or sharing this blessing with me!

The cabin is amazing! It’s very clean and cozy. Elexis’ farm is the perfect escape from the city. Her and her family are all very welcoming and the communication it great. I loved walking the property and getting to know some of the animals. I absolutely loved this place!

Fantastic!! Elexis and Buddy were perfect hosts. They were quick to respond and made sure we had everything we needed even firewood. The cottage was just as pictures showed. We had the joy of renting the cottage and cabin. They were a short walk from each other. The adults enjoyed the king size beds in two bedrooms and the teenage nieces said the beds in the third room were very comfy. The one bathroom was sufficient for the five who stayed in the cottage. The farm was lovely and the animals were super fun and entertaining. We absolutely loved this getaway and highly recommend a visit.
